I started “theming” iPhone user interfaces about five years ago. What started out as a quest for a little customization has transformed into a passion of mine. Think of all the time we spend staring at our phones these days. The chance to put a face on, to invoke a feeling, or just crack a grin by skinning an iPhone captured my imagination and I’ve never looked back. I thought it would be interesting to line up most if not all of my themes in chronological order (as best as I can remember) from first to latest and visualize the evolution of one man’s discovery of art. I also included the number of downloads for each theme just for fun. 🙂
Garbage Pail Kids – My first theme – 1343 downloads
Refrigerator Magnets – 456 downloads
Egyptian Hieroglyphs – 4305 downloads
Sarah Silverman – 709 downloads
Sir Mix-A-Lot – 1354 downloads
digistrackshun – 677 downloads
Tesla Plasma Ball – 1499 downloads
Here, I switched design programs, changing from Gimp 1.0 to Photoshop 6.
Pack of Smokes – 705 downloads
Nature Lover HD – 2037 downloads
Cowboy Bebop Theme – 1277 downloads
Here, I took about a year off from designing themes but followed up with…
Ancient Aliens – 744 downloads
A 3D IKEA Theme – 8963 downloads
A 3D Southern Gothic Theme – 1366 downloads
A Blacklight Theme – 8737 downloads
A 3D Southpark Theme – 6383 downloads

Wow! These are definitely fun themes. I can’t decide between the Alien Asteroids and the Sir Mix-A-Lot blings.
